Haptic sensations – the importance of choosing the right chair

Researchers have found that, not surprisingly, our bodily perceptions exert a strong influence on the way we think and the way we behave. In a report published in 2010 by Ackerman/Naucera, it is concluded that touch sensations unconsciously influence our decision making process. One of the experiments conducted in the report revealed that users sitting in a soft, cushy chair were more likely to be more emotional in their decision making than when seated in a hard, wooden chair. Users were also found to be driving a much harder bargain when sitting on a harder surface. Sensory impressions of touched surfaces appear to have a strong effect on our thought processes and associated impulses.

There, scientific evidence which shows the benefits of an office chair which does not interfere with your work, one that forces you to sit correctly and which gives you room to maneuver, one that has minimal impact on your sense of touch but is still so comfortable that it is will not be the reason for getting up.
